Buildings Guide for Build a Country

Housing, production, military, and the plot storage box — jobs on the land, not a fake gold catalog.

Buildings Guide

Buildings in Build a Country are jobs on a plot, not a wiki shop. This page will not invent names with gold costs. It will not publish a fake menu. Official media and passes already tell you the real buckets: houses, farms, cities that grow from a tiny town, a storage box on the plot, and a later military layer of tanks and planes. Your builders construct those jobs. Your cash pays for the queue. Your neighbors on a five-player server can see the result from spawn.

Use this with Getting Started on day one and How to Make Money whenever the bank dies. Rankings of what to value live on the buildings tier list. This guide is the job mix and the layout the other four flags can already read.

Think in jobs, not in a catalog

Every placement answers one question: what is this tile for?

  • Housing grows population.
  • Production (farms and related work) makes that population useful so you can sell cash.
  • Military contests the server.
  • The storage box is inventory, not scenery.

If a tile does not do one of those jobs, it is decoration. Decoration is allowed after the loop prints. Decoration as the first row is how tiny towns stay tiny.

The build HUD is on-screen in the live session. Learn the real labels there. This wiki will not guess them. Standard Roblox movement still applies while you place: WASD or left stick to walk, right-drag to orbit, tap or click to select, pinch to zoom on mobile.

Housing

A country with no people is a diorama. Housing is how the diorama becomes a town, then a city of the future. Population is the quiet number that makes selling scale and makes 2x Population worth considering later. If the crowd is not growing, stop placing tanks. Queue houses builders can finish.

Spread housing so builders can path. A single jammed corner with a pretty block of homes still fails if the storage box cannot take the output or if farms are on the other side of a military wall you placed too early. Housing is infrastructure. Treat it like a belt, not like a statue.

Production

Farms are the production picture the official media already uses. Production is what you sell. It is also what you delete when you panic-pave a tank pad. Keep a strip alive even after the skyline starts to look expensive. The strip is the difference between a military layer you can rebuild and a military layer you had once.

Production without housing is a factory with no city. Housing without production is a crowd with nothing to sell. The money page argues the tap. This page argues the land: leave room for both, on purpose, in the first hour and in the tenth.

If builders walk past empty grass to reach a far farm, you paid a hidden tax. Pull production toward the box and toward housing so the clock stays short.

Military

Tanks and planes are a layer. They are not the town. Place them when How to Make Money is already true. Place them where a loss does not delete the farm belt. Place them in a shape you can restock without threading builders through wreckage.

This is still a strategy and tower-defense game that ends in war. Ignoring military forever is how a rich town becomes someone else’s town. Replacing the whole town with military is how a loud town becomes nobody’s town. The buildings tier list can argue order of value. It cannot argue you into restock you did not earn.

Flags are part of the picture. Your flag is a signal. A military-heavy silhouette with no people tells the four neighbors you are a short fight. A mixed plot tells them you can fight twice.

The storage box

The plot storage box is a choke. Infinite Storage exists as a gamepass because the box fills. When builders stall and cash is fine, look at the box before you look at the war HUD. A full box makes every other building pretend to work. Houses complete and then jam. Farms complete and then jam. Tanks you cannot afford sit in a queue behind a jam.

Treat the box like a building you check, not like furniture. Walk to it. Clear it. Then queue more work. If you buy Infinite Storage, buy it because the box was the stall in several sessions, not because the name sounds like a money cheat. It is not a money cheat. It is a bigger pocket for a town that already produces.

Layout the neighbors can read

You are on a five-player server. The other four countries can see your plan from spawn. Put the jobs in a sentence they can parse:

  • Housing and farms inward and busy.
  • Box reachable.
  • Military as an edge, not as a carpet.
  • Room to expand toward a city without paving the belt.

Change Size is a real pass. Scale can make that sentence clearer or turn it into sprawl. Bigger empty pads are still empty. Bigger farms you can staff are expansion. Use size after you know which job is missing, not as a first click because the plot felt small.

VIP does not change layout math. 2x Builder Speed makes a good layout finish faster and a bad layout finish into a mistake faster. 2x Money does not care where the tiles are, but it does care whether those tiles still sell.

What to place first

Day one, from Getting Started:

  1. Housing you can finish.
  2. Farms or other production you can finish.
  3. A habit of checking the storage box.
  4. Only then a thin military layer you could replace.

Day two and after, the same order still wins fights. The city-of-the-future look is a result of that order repeating, not a building you buy with a made-up price. If a thumbnail told you to rush a named structure this wiki does not list, ignore the name. Ask which job it does. If you cannot answer, it is not first.

Your skyline is a signal

The other four players do not need your HUD. They can see whether the plot is a town or a pad. Farms in front and tanks in back, until the box is healthy, is a sentence that keeps you in the server. Tanks in front and grass behind is a sentence that ends the session.

Build for jobs. Leave the fake gold list to people who are guessing. When you want a ranking instead of a layout, open the buildings tier list. When the bank is the problem, stop placing and go sell. The country that still has a belt after the screenshot is the country that still has a future city.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers for codes, war, and growing your country.

What should I build first in Build a Country?

Housing and production you can finish, then check the storage box. Military comes after selling cash works. Getting Started is the day-one version of that order.

What is the storage box?

The plot inventory choke. When it fills, builders stall even if you have cash. Infinite Storage is the pass for that choke. It does not print money by itself.

Why doesn't this guide list gold costs?

Because this wiki will not invent building names with fake prices. Learn live HUD labels in-game. For value talk without a fake menu, use the buildings tier list.

When do I place tanks and planes?

When How to Make Money is already true and a loss would not delete the farm belt. They are a military layer, not the town.

Does Change Size help buildings?

It changes scale. Use it to staff a job you already understand, not to draw a bigger empty pad. Sprawling grass still sells nothing.
